Histamine has many functions including immune response, stomach acid regulation, neurotransmitter function, and vasodilation.

Histamine can be a a major driving factor of symptoms behind migraines, PMS, endometriosis, long COVID, IBS, ADHD/ADD, brain fog, anxiety/depression, etc. Histamine drives epinephrine release which will further the fight or flight response, constantly putting a person in a state as if they were “running from a bear”... this downregulates digestion, hormone balance, etc.

What is Histamine Intolerance?

Histamine intolerance can occur when the body has too much histamine either from producing too much OR a person can’t break it down properly, leading to systemic effects. It’s not a sensitivity to histamine itself, but rather an imbalance between intake/production and breakdown. Symptoms can be widespread and confusing, mimicking other conditions like allergies, autoimmune issues, etc.
